North Babylon Man Killed While Fleeing Police

by Anton Greengrass on September 26, 2010
Suffolk Police Department

A North Babylon man was killed in a car crash while fleeing from Suffolk County police early Sunday morning.

John Ricciardi was pulled over by police on Outlook Drive in North Babylon  but when the officer approached Ricciardi’s vehicle, the 49-year-old man drove off, blowing three stop signs at 4:15 a.m., police said.

Ricciardi allegedly lost control of the vehicle after about one mile, struck a retaining wall and crashed into a utility pole at the intersection of Little East Neck Road and Belmont Avenue in West Babylon, police said.

Ricciardi was pronounced dead at the scene. His vehicle was impounded for a safety check and the investigation is ongoing.

First Squad detectives ask anyone with information about this incident to call them at 631-854-8152 or anonymously to Crime Stoppers at 1-800-220-TIPS.

Wedding & Event FAQ
Q- Does the flower girl have to wear white or ivory to match the bride?

A-Your flower girl can wear any colored dress, which of course coordinates with the rest of your wedding party. If you choose for her to wear white or ivory, you can accent the dress with the bridal party color sash or appliqué. She can also wear the color of the bridal party and to differentiate her, you can add a white or ivory sash. Choose something that you feel will coordinate best with the rest of your bridal party.
