World’s Biggest Photo: Budapest 70 Billion-Pixel Image is Biggest Pic

by Brad Pareso on July 30, 2010

Think that picture you took with your fancy D-SLR camera is just gorgeous? Trust us, you ain’t see nothin’ yet.

The world’s biggest picture is a 70 gigapixel—that’s 70 billion pixels—360 degree panoramic image of Budapest. What do all those pixels allow? Imagine standing on top of the Empire State Building and looking around. Now imagine being able to see someone inside an apartment window…in Brooklyn.

The shot was created with a pair of Sony A900 cameras, fitted with 400mm lenses. The cameras were mounted to a rotating robot which pounded the shutter button for two days. The images were then processed over another two days. The end result is a 200 GB file.

If you’re planning on printing it out to hang on the wall, head to Staples first: the photo measures 15 meters long.

We’d upload the full image in this post but…well, it’d probably crash our entire website.

Wedding & Event FAQ
Q- Does the flower girl have to wear white or ivory to match the bride?

A-Your flower girl can wear any colored dress, which of course coordinates with the rest of your wedding party. If you choose for her to wear white or ivory, you can accent the dress with the bridal party color sash or appliqué. She can also wear the color of the bridal party and to differentiate her, you can add a white or ivory sash. Choose something that you feel will coordinate best with the rest of your bridal party.
