Long Island Press, Ace Hardware Collecting Donations for Hurricane Sandy Victims

by Jaclyn Gallucci on November 3, 2012

The Long Island Press is teaming up with Ace Hardware stores across Long Island, the Kids Kloset, Rock Can Roll and Long Island Food Not Bombs to help our neighbors who have been devastated by Hurricane Sandy.

All Long Island Ace Hardware locations are serving as drop-off locations for non-perishable food items and clothing donations to those in need on the south shore.

More than 500,000 people remain without electricity on Long Island and the south shore has been especially hit hard by the super storm.

In Long Beach, West Broadway and West Park Avenue are still covered with sand, and many neighborhoods along the south shore remain under water, leaving many homeless and without food or clean drinking water.

Food and clothing donations can be dropped off at the following Ace Hardware locations:

2138 Deer Park Ave., Deer Park

770-14 Grand Blvd., Deer Park

246 Smithtown Blvd., Nesconset

1102 Route 110, Farmingdale

5135 Merrick Rd., Massapequa Park

3899 Hempstead Tpke, Bethpage

2323 Jericho Tpke, Garden City Park

Wedding & Event FAQ
Q- Does the flower girl have to wear white or ivory to match the bride?

A-Your flower girl can wear any colored dress, which of course coordinates with the rest of your wedding party. If you choose for her to wear white or ivory, you can accent the dress with the bridal party color sash or appliqué. She can also wear the color of the bridal party and to differentiate her, you can add a white or ivory sash. Choose something that you feel will coordinate best with the rest of your bridal party.
