New Kids on the Block singer from back in the day Jonathan Knight says he’s gay. And not only is he gay, but he came out of the closet decades ago.

His fellow ’80s teen star Tiffany, who dated Knight back then, recently told Bravo’s Watch What Happens Live host Andy Cohen that Knight “became gay later” after they had broken up, which came as a shock to many NKOTB fans, who either didn’t know or thought Tiffany just made a major faux pas on live TV, accidentally outing her former boyfriend.
Knight made a joke of it on his Twitter page and later made an official announcement on the New Kids on the Block official website.
“I have never been outed by anyone but myself!” Knight wrote. “I did so almost twenty years ago. I never knew that I would have to do it all over again publicly just because I reunited with NKOTB! I have lived my life very openly and have never hidden the fact I am gay!”
Even so, Tiffany later tweeted an apology to Knight.
“My belief is that you live your life by example, not by a caption on a magazine!,” Knight continued. “If there has ever been any confusion about my sexuality, then you are someone that doesn’t even know me!”
