In most sports, height is important. It can be either an advantage or disadvantage.
Basketball is a sport where height is an advantage. Of course, there are some talented players that aren’t tall (Nate Robinson, who is 5 ft 9 in). For the most part, NBA players tower over the common person. Here are some examples:
Lebron James- 6 ft 8 in
Michael Jordan- 6 ft 6 in
Larry Bird- 6 ft 9 in
Wilt Chamberlin- 7 ft 1 in
Yao Ming- 7 ft 6 in
Swimming is a sport where you don’t necessarily have to be tall, but it does help. Michael Phelps is 6 ft 4 in, which is an above average height, and he holds the record for most gold members won at a single Olympics. In football, height also seems to be an advantage, as Peyton Manning stands at 6 ft 5 in and Ben Roethlisberger is 6 ft 5 in.
