by Jaclyn Gallucci on November 16, 2010

Messy Mya: Police are reportedly hoping the Messy Mya death photo taken by an onlooker as Mya was shot five or six times on a New Orleans street could help find his killer.

Messy Mya, a comedian who became well-known after posting his videos on YouTube, was shot Sunday as he was leaving his girlfriend’s baby shower.

Police say there are no suspects at this time but there are reports police are investigating the photos taken by an onlooker at the scene. Mya is reportedly alive in those pictures. The 22-year-old was shot at about 8 p.m. on a populated street. Crowds surrounded Mya and at some point someone took pictures of him as he was bleeding to death.

The death photo was posted on Twitter and re-Tweeted over and over until Twitter removed the picture from its site.
