Megan Waterman, a Maine woman visiting Long Island, disappeared in June from the Holiday Inn Express in Hauppauge. Waterman had advertised on Craigslist as an escort and police believe that was the reason she and boyfriend Akeem Cruz, who is not considered a suspect at this time, were on Long Island. Her family is now offering a reward in hopes that someone will come forward with information about her whereabouts., N.Y., where she went with her boyfriend.

Scarborough Police Detective Don Blatchford, who is working jointly with Suffolk County police detectives, says police are still treating Waterman’s disappearance as a missing-persons case.
Blatchford tells the Portland Press Herald human trafficking is “a recognized problem in the area” where Waterman was last seen.
