“Monster Mash” is a Halloween classic originally sang in 1982 by Bobby “Boris” Picket. Its a play on both the popular Mashed Potato dance of the 1960’s and the voice of horror movie actor Boris Karloff. “Monster Mash” reached the No. 1 spot on the Billboard Hot 100 chart on October 20, 1962.
The song has been covered by horror punk group The Misfits and also has a rap version and a Christmas spin-off called “Monster’s Holiday.”
