McKevitt, 39, won his Assembly seat in a 2006 special election and is running for his second full term. He previously worked for state Sen. Kemp Hannon (R-Garden City), ex-U.S. Sen. Al D’Amato and served as a deputy Hempstead town attorney. He sits on the judiciary, mental health, insurance, small business, and aging committees.
