Boston Marathon: Boston Marathon 2011 Registration Starts Today

by James Monaco on October 18, 2010

Registration for the 2011 Boston Marathon, which will take place in mid-April, begins today.  Applicants can register online by clicking here.

The Boston Marathon is one of the largest and most sought after annual running events in the nation, and this April will mark its 115th year.  To be accepted, applicants must have recently run a certified marathon within the specific qualifying time for their age/gender group (for instance, a 45-year old female must have completed a marathon in four hours, while an 18-year old male has to have run one in 3:10).  The Boston Marathon is one of the only races that requires qualifying times.

Qualifying time brackets are normally available at www.bostonmarathon.org, but at the moment their entire site redirects to the registration page, so for now they can be seen at MarathonGuide.com.

The Boston Athletic Association (BAA) operates the marathon.  Each year an average of 20,000 runners from all over the world compete.

Wedding & Event FAQ
Q- Does the flower girl have to wear white or ivory to match the bride?

A-Your flower girl can wear any colored dress, which of course coordinates with the rest of your wedding party. If you choose for her to wear white or ivory, you can accent the dress with the bridal party color sash or appliqué. She can also wear the color of the bridal party and to differentiate her, you can add a white or ivory sash. Choose something that you feel will coordinate best with the rest of your bridal party.
