Woman Attacked, Robbed By Ex-Boyfriend In Uniondale

by Long Island Press on October 16, 2010

A woman was beaten and robbed by her ex-boyfriend and child’s father in Uniondale yesterday afternoon.

The victim, a 27-year-old woman, was walking on Jerusalem Avenue with her 4-year-old son. As she was walking she was approached by Deshaun Walcott, her ex-boyfriend and the child’s father.

Walcott took his son, put him in his vehicle and attempted to drive away. When the victim tried to take her son back, according to Nassau County Police Department First Squad detectives, Walcott began punching her and threw her to the ground. At this point, Gloria Fields got out of Walcott’s vehicle and joined him by kicking and punching the victim. Walcott took the victim’s wallet, phone and car keys while she was on the ground.

The victim did manage to grab her son from Walcott’s car and then fled into a nearby store. She did not require immediate medical attention and her son was also not injured.

Walcott and Fields fled the scene of the incident and were arrested at 4:40 p.m. yesterday. Both Walcott, from Freeport, and Fields, from Rosedale, are charged with second-degree robbery. Walcott is also charged criminal mischief for popping the victim’s tires.
