Christina Aguilera confirmed Tuesday that she and husband Jordan Bratman have separated after five years of marriage.

“Although Jordan and I are separated, our commitment to our son Max remains as strong as ever,” the singer said in a statement.
The two met in 2002 when he was a producer on one of her albums. They were married in November of 2005 in Napa Valley. Max was born in January of 2008.
