It’s tricky to figure out which businesses are closed and which ones are open on Columbus Day.
Banks vary, and it is best to check the website of your bank to see its specific hours. Major banks that are closed are Bank of America, Citibank and U S Bank. Chase Bank and Wells Fargo/Wachovia are open.
The United States Postal Service is closed, so there will be no home delivery of mail. Public schools are also closed.
