For the Lutz family of East Setauket, the Extreme Makeover: Home Edition experience began in June, at Yankee Stadium, where they were surprised by Ty Pennington and the EM:HE team, including Long Island’s own Sal Ferro and Alure Home Improvements.

From there, the family was swept away on a week-long vacation, while their old home was swept into a whirlwind of activity and construction. Pennington, Ferro, their teams and countless volunteers worked literally every day, 24-7, for the duration of the week, demolishing the house that once stood, and constructing from the bottom up a new home for the family, including a pool in the backyard and an interior made to look like the streets of Manhattan.

Finally, the new house is being revealed on television: At 8 p.m. Sunday night on ABC, the Lutz’s story will premiere on Extreme Makeover: Home Edition, and the world can at last see the wonder of creation and teamwork that occurred on East Setauket’s Ringneck Lane over one week this past summer.

For fans who want to get out and experience the event with a spirited group of EM:HE volunteers and team members, Dave & Busters in Islandia is hosting an EM:HE viewing party for the airing of this exciting episode. Everyone is welcome: volunteers, those who donated, spectators, fans of the show…and all are invited to bring their families. Furthermore, for anyone wearing an Alure or EM:HE shirt, or with a picture from the makeover, Dave & Busters will give out $10 gift cards for games, and they will also have $4 appetizers as well as drink specials.

A-Your flower girl can wear any colored dress, which of course coordinates with the rest of your wedding party.
