The quick-moving storm moved through New York City and Long Island Thursday evening, killing one person and tearing up trees and roofs from homes.

Midmorning Friday around more than 3,000 Long Island Power Authority customers and 29,000 ConEdison customers, mostly in Queens, were still without power. Overall 37,000 customers lost power due to the storm, ConEd said. More than 13,000 LIPA customers had lost power after the storm as well.

Iline Levakis, 30, of Mechanicburg, Pa., was killed after a tree fell on her car in Queens. Numerous other injuries were also reported in the area.

Meteorologists will be looking over the area to determine the width and intensity of the storm and whether or not a tornado did touch down. Fire officials are inspecting 10 buildings in Brooklyn whose roofs were peeled off or damaged from trees and wind.

Q- Does the flower girl have to wear white or ivory to match the bride?

A-Your flower girl can wear any colored dress, which of course coordinates with the rest of your wedding party. If you choose for her to wear white or ivory, you can accent the dress with the bridal party color sash or appliqué. She can also wear the color of the bridal party and to differentiate her, you can add a white or ivory sash. Choose something that you feel will coordinate best with the rest of your bridal party.
