Jones Beach, Robert Moses Construction Continues During Hurricane Earl

by Jaclyn Gallucci on September 4, 2010

Workers continue restoration on the tip of the Jones Beach Water Tower during Hurricane Earl

Even though the beaches were empty at Jones Beach on Friday due to gray skies thanks to Hurricane Earl, restoration continued on the famous 231-foot tall Jones Beach Water Tower—rain, wind and all.

In Suffolk County, rough surf continued to batter the shoreline at Robert Moses beaches and erosion had taken it’s toll leaving little room for the crowds that are sure to rush in when Earl passes.

But construction on a new bridge—which is being built due to flaws in the cement used in the original bridge’s construction discovered by the New York State Department of Transportation in 2004—continued on the Robert Moses Causeway as the rain came down.

Wedding & Event FAQ
Q- Does the flower girl have to wear white or ivory to match the bride?

A-Your flower girl can wear any colored dress, which of course coordinates with the rest of your wedding party. If you choose for her to wear white or ivory, you can accent the dress with the bridal party color sash or appliqué. She can also wear the color of the bridal party and to differentiate her, you can add a white or ivory sash. Choose something that you feel will coordinate best with the rest of your bridal party.
