Eisenhower Park Fireworks and Long Island Fourth of July Events

by Samantha Batel on July 2, 2010

With the Fourth of July just around the corner, it is officially BBQ season. Rather than just grilling in your backyard, check out some of the dozens of activities the Island has to offer during this red, white, and blue weekend.

On Saturday night, TD Bank is kicking off Independence Day weekend with a fireworks display at Eisenhower Park. The Beach Bummz, a tribute band to the Beach Boys, will first perform at the Harry Chapin Lakeside Theatre, followed by the fireworks show.

Old Bethpage Village Restoration continues the festivities on Sunday afternoon with a traditional Independence Day parade. The five-hour event includes a performance by the Old Bethpage Village Brass band, patriotic activities, and games for children—a perfect family event.

Sagamore Hill and Belmont Park and Stakes also feature Sunday midday family fun, patriotically themed for this celebratory weekend. Don’t forget to bring your 4×6 American flag-on-a-stick!

Then, head over to Suffolk County Sports Park to support the Long Island Ducks and enjoy a fireworks show both Saturday and Sunday night.

Wedding & Event FAQ
Q- Does the flower girl have to wear white or ivory to match the bride?

A-Your flower girl can wear any colored dress, which of course coordinates with the rest of your wedding party. If you choose for her to wear white or ivory, you can accent the dress with the bridal party color sash or appliqué. She can also wear the color of the bridal party and to differentiate her, you can add a white or ivory sash. Choose something that you feel will coordinate best with the rest of your bridal party.
