Anticipation, Excitement at Extreme Makeover: Home Edition

by Samantha Batel on June 27, 2010

12:40 p.m. “The Spirit of Stony Brook” Marching Band walked past the Lutz home, twirling flags, shaking pompoms, and playing instruments. The Extreme Makeover: Home Edition bus followed.

1:00 p.m. Volunteers struggled to carry what looks like half a taxicab into the house. I’ve been told that this refurbished, halved vehicle is actually a couch. After much maneuvering, the volunteers successfully brought the heavy piece of furniture inside.

1:55 p.m. ABC’s camera crew filmed the marching band and the Extreme Makeover: Home Edition bus’ second appearance.

2:00 p.m. As the estimated 2 o’clock deadline came and went, ABC crewmembers filmed spectators cheering and shouting, “Move that bus!”

3:45 p.m. An ABC representative, speaking on behalf of the network and the volunteers, thanked everyone for their incredible support. “You guys rock!” he exclaimed. He also told us that CVS pharmacy is giving the Lutz family a sizeable home improvement fund.

4:10 p.m. Ty talked with the crew as the Extreme Makeover: Home Edition bus honked its horn to rev up the crowd.

4:13 – 4:14 p.m. ABC’s camera crew filmed the entrance of the Lutz’s yellow taxicab limo, twice.

4:26 p.m. Now that the family is standing outside, the crowd cheered, “Move that bus!” and the vehicle’s engine started up.

4:27 p.m. The cheering continued and the bus pulled away from the front of the house. The Lutz family is finally face to face with their new home!

4:40 p.m. After the camera finished taping segments from the street, the Lutz family walked up to their new front door. The crew will soon film the Lutz family inside the home.

After an incredible week’s worth of hard work, the big reveal showcased an amazing finished project. The Lutz family’s excitement over their new home was exactly what the thousands of volunteers had hoped for. Stay tuned for this episode of Extreme Makeover: Home Edition, set to air this fall.

Wedding & Event FAQ
Q- Does the flower girl have to wear white or ivory to match the bride?

A-Your flower girl can wear any colored dress, which of course coordinates with the rest of your wedding party. If you choose for her to wear white or ivory, you can accent the dress with the bridal party color sash or appliqué. She can also wear the color of the bridal party and to differentiate her, you can add a white or ivory sash. Choose something that you feel will coordinate best with the rest of your bridal party.
