Uniondale Man Arrested for Tampering with Bank Accounts

Nassau County police arrested a Uniondale man on Tuesday for compromising several personal bank accounts.

David Smith, 26, acted with several others in transferring funds from several personal bank accounts into an account that he had control over.  The total amount reported from the accounts, which are held with Bank of America, is more than $180,000. The other suspects have not been identified.

Smith was charged with two counts each of identity theft and grand larceny. He will be arraigned today at First District Court in Hempstead.
