Nassau police are investigating a shooting in Elmont early Friday morning. 
A Fifth Precinct officer responded to L Street after a man walking his dog found five shell casings in the street at 12:15 p.m. Neighbors told police that they had heard possible shots fired at approximately 2 a.m.
There was no 911 call made at that time.
