There reward for information leading to the arrest of three suspects who vandalized a Menorah in Holbrook earlier this month is now $7,000.

Suffolk police have been searching for the three young men who damaged the holiday display the outside Friendly Drugs on Main Street on Dec. 4. The vandals caused about $2,000 worth of damage, according to Hate Crimes Unit detectives.

Crime Stoppers had offered a reward of up to $5,000 and the Holbrook Chamber of Commerce announced Tuesday that it is offering an additional $2,000 reward, but information must be given to the police before Jan. 31, 2010.

“The vandalizing of the menorah unfairly sullied the reputation of the entire Holbrook community, but the actions of the community to fight back against bias make it clear that we will not tolerate the expression of that kind of hatred in our community,” Suffolk Legis. William J. Lindsay (D-Holbrook) said in a statement.

Anyone with information about this crime is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-220-TIPS.  All calls will be kept confidential.
