Wantagh Ice Cream Shop Robbed at Knifepoint

An ice cream shop was robbed at knifepoint in Wantagh on Sunday night, Nassau police said. ice-cream
 
A man armed with a knife entered the Carvel on Merrick Road, walked behind the counter and demanded money from the cashier at 8:20 p.m., according to 7th Squad detectives.
 
The cashier gave the robber cash and the suspect fled on foot eastbound on Merrick Road. No injuries were reported.

At about 7 p.m. in Baldwin, police said a man with a knife tried to rob the Subway on Grand Avenue and had walked behind the counter before demanding money from the clerk but fled the scene when two customers walked in.

He fled the scene in a red two-door car, possiblly a Honda ofrAcura, police said.

Detectives ask anyone with information regarding this crime to contact Crime Stoppers at 1-800-244-TIPS.  All callers will remain anonymous.
