Police say a teller directed a robbery at her Coram branch after picking up a day laborer and telling him to approach her with a note demanding money.
Suffolk County police say the bank teller and the man had agreed to meet up after the robbery on Sunday and split the loot.
Now 25-year-old Herminia Arevalo, an employee of the Citizens Bank branch in Coram, and 51-year-old Lorenzo Palma Salinas, a day laborer, face charges of grand larceny.
Police say the bank teller met the laborer earlier in the morning and drove him to the bank.
They agreed that he would demand the cash and that she would feign being robbed before handing over a package of money.
Police say it appears duo didn’t know each other prior to the incident.
They will be arraigned at First District Court in Central Islip on Monday.
