Elderly Woman Killed in Copiague Fire

A house fire claimed the life of an elderly Copiague woman on Thursday night, Suffolk police said. fire2-300x2251

Firefighters responded to a Bergen Court home and found 80-year-old Olga Burt dead inside at about 8:45 p.m. Another tenant in the house escaped unharmed, police said.

Homicide Squad and Arson Section detectives are investigating but do not believe the fire to be suspicious.
