Surrogate’s Court Judge John M. Czygier approved the appointment Tuesday of a public administrator to oversee the estate of Diane Schuler. The procedure enables the filing of lawsuits.
The Long Island woman crashed head-on into an SUV on the Taconic State Parkway. Schuler, her 2-year old daughter, three young nieces and three Westchester County men died in the fiery July 26 wreck.
Her family disputes autopsy and police findings that she was drunk and high.
A lawyer for two of the Westchester victims said Tuesday he intends to file a lawsuit before the end of the month.
