Nassau health officials are offering free swine flu shots to pregnant women on Monday night.
Nassau County Department of Health will provide the H1N1 vaccine from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. at the department’s office at 106 Charles Lindbergh Boulevard in Uniondale. Women are asked to use the East Employee Entrance.
The vaccine that is being administered comes in a multi-dose vial containing thimerosal, or a mercury preservative. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) advises pregnant women to get flu shots either with or without thimerosal.
