Suffolk County health officials are offering free swine flu shots to pregnant women on Thursday.
Centers for Disease Control and Prevention recommend that pregnant women receive the vaccine as soon as it becomes available to them. The H1N1 influenza vaccine being offered at the clinic contains less than one microgram of thimerosal, a mercury-containing preservative.
The shots will be available at The Suffolk County Department of Health Service, 225 Rabro Dr. East Hauppauge on Thursday from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. No appointment is necessary.
