North Valley Stream Robbery

by Long Island Press on November 8, 2009

A pair of men were arrested at 5:20 a.m. on Nov. 7 in North Valley Stream for a robbery.

The defendants, Jose Gutierrez, 24, and Luis Garcia, 20, approached a male victim and female victim as the couple arrived at their residence. The defendants were wearing hockey masks and appeared to be displaying handguns. When the defendants demanded money, the victims handed over money, cell phones, a bluetooth headset and a purse. The defendants then fled in a white Acura.

A short time later, fifth precinct officers stopped the defendants in their white Acura. They attempted to evade the police by striking their car into one of the patrol vehicles. The defendants then fled on foot and were apprehended. The stolen goods were recovered in the car.

Both Gutierrez and Garcia are charged with first-degree robbery and first-degree criminal use of a firearm. Garcia himself is also charged with criminal mischief and unlicensed operator of a vehicle. Both will be arraigned on Nov. 8 in first district court in Hempstead.

Wedding & Event FAQ
Q- Does the flower girl have to wear white or ivory to match the bride?

A-Your flower girl can wear any colored dress, which of course coordinates with the rest of your wedding party. If you choose for her to wear white or ivory, you can accent the dress with the bridal party color sash or appliqué. She can also wear the color of the bridal party and to differentiate her, you can add a white or ivory sash. Choose something that you feel will coordinate best with the rest of your bridal party.
