Southampton Town police arrested a Hampton Bays woman for drunken driving after she allegedly struck a pedestrian and fled the scene in her hometown early Thursday morning.
Marianne S. Cox, 38, struck the victim on West Montauk Highway, causing minor injuries to the pedestrian, but didn’t stop at about 12:49 a.m., police said.
Cox was apprehended a short time later on Good Ground Road and was charged with driving while intoxicated, leaving the scene of a accident with personal injury, failing to signal and refusing to take a breath test.
The victim was taken to the hospital for treatment of his injuries.
