by Patrick Kelton on November 3, 2009

Two armed carjackers struck in Valley Stream early Monday morning, Nassau police said. handgun2-300x22511

The pair of robbers jumped in the backseat of a 26-year-old woman’s car when it was stopped at the corner of Dewitt Street and Oliver Avenue, then pistol whipped the 21-year-old man in the passenger seat with a silver handgun and demanded money at 1:55 a.m., according to 5th Squad detectives.

The robbers then demanded that the woman continue to drive, which she did—to the passenger’s home, where a homeowner heard the commotion and began yelling, causing the suspects to flee westbound on Oliver Avenue, police said.  The robbers got away with an undetermined amount of cash.

Detectives request anyone with information regarding this crime to contact Nassau County Crime Stoppers at 1-800-244-TIPS.  All callers will remain anonymous.

Wedding & Event FAQ
Q- Does the flower girl have to wear white or ivory to match the bride?

A-Your flower girl can wear any colored dress, which of course coordinates with the rest of your wedding party. If you choose for her to wear white or ivory, you can accent the dress with the bridal party color sash or appliqué. She can also wear the color of the bridal party and to differentiate her, you can add a white or ivory sash. Choose something that you feel will coordinate best with the rest of your bridal party.
