Nassau Dems Defeated

by Michael M. Martino, Jr. on November 3, 2009

Nassau Democratic Party Chair Jay Jacobs has just announced that the Nassau County Democrats have lost the majority in the legislature.

Speaking from the podium at the Long Island Marriott in Uniondale, Jacobs addressed a silent room.

“You have good days in politics and bad days in politics,” says Jay Jacobs.

Legislator Jeff Toback (D-Oceanside) was defeated by challenger Howard Koppel. Incumbents Dave Mejias (D-Farmingdale) and Joe Scannell (D-Baldwin) still hung by a thread and, says Jacobs, are too close to call.

Most shocking was the announcement that County Executive Tom Suozzi’s race against Republican Ed Mangano was “too close to call,” with Mangano leading by more than 4,000 votes.

Wedding & Event FAQ
Q- Does the flower girl have to wear white or ivory to match the bride?

A-Your flower girl can wear any colored dress, which of course coordinates with the rest of your wedding party. If you choose for her to wear white or ivory, you can accent the dress with the bridal party color sash or appliqué. She can also wear the color of the bridal party and to differentiate her, you can add a white or ivory sash. Choose something that you feel will coordinate best with the rest of your bridal party.
