A Brooklyn man was arrested for a home invasion burglary in Great Neck Estates on Friday morning, Nassau police said.
Roman B. Genao, 47, knocked on the door of an Ascot Ridge home and forced his way inside when the 60-year woman who owns the home opened the door at 11:30 a.m., according to 6th Squad detectives.
Once inside, Genao cut the phone line, put a knife to the victim’s throat and demanded money, police said. The victim gave Genao an unknown amount cash and a check made out to cash in the amount of $4,000, but before leaving, Genao threatened physical injury and property damage if the victim called the police, investigators said.
Genao was apprehended at his home the next day and was charged with robbery, burglary, unlawful imprisonment, intimidating a witness/victim, menacing, criminal mischief and two counts of possession of a weapon.
