LI Women Sue Hooters Over Uniform Costs

by Associated Press on October 31, 2009

imagesTwo waitresses working at Long Island Hooters restaurants have filed a lawsuit complaining that the chain violates labor laws by making them pay for their skimpy uniforms.

Gina Rosati and Amy Frederick say they have to shell out around $20 for their tank tops, tights and orange short shorts.

They also have to launder the items themselves, which is prohibited by state law when an employer requires a worker to wear a uniform.

Lawyers for the women filed the suit this week at a federal court in Brooklyn against a company that owns Hooters restaurants in East Meadow, Islandia and Fresh Meadows. The owners had no comment.

Q- Does the flower girl have to wear white or ivory to match the bride?

A-Your flower girl can wear any colored dress, which of course coordinates with the rest of your wedding party. If you choose for her to wear white or ivory, you can accent the dress with the bridal party color sash or appliqué. She can also wear the color of the bridal party and to differentiate her, you can add a white or ivory sash. Choose something that you feel will coordinate best with the rest of your bridal party.
