Glen Cove CVS Evacuated After Fire

A fire was intentionally set at a pharmacy in Glen Cove on Sunday afternoon, Nassau police said. fire2-300x2251

A paper towel display was set on fire in the CVS on Glen Street but only caused minimal damage due to activation of the sprinkler system at 1:23 p.m., according to Arson/Bomb Squad detectives. A woman suffered a minor injury and was taken to a local hospital where she was treated and released.

There were approximately 50 customers in the store who evacuated prior to police arrival. Glen Cove Fire Department responded to the scene.

Detectives request anyone with information about this incident to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-244-TIPS. All callers will remain anonymous.
