Man Struck, Killed by Train in Westbury

A man was fatally struck by an eastbound Long Island Railroad train near the Westbury station on Saturday morning, Metropolitan Transportation Authority Police said. trax-300x2251

The 7:16 a.m. train from Penn Station due in Ronkonkoma at 8:35 a.m. struck the man, whose name was not released, at the School Street crossing at around 8 a.m., police said.

There were delays of more than an hour on the Port Jefferson branch as well as the Ronkonkoma, Oyster Bay and Montauk branches while investigators were on the scene.
