Report: Crews Searching for Missing Boater

The U.S. Coast Guard and police in Old Saybrook are searching Long Island Sound for an overdue boater.

WTNH-TV reports the 30-year-old man, who is from Old Lyme, Conn., was traveling from Southhold, on Long Island’s North Fork, to Old Saybrook in a 13-foot Boston Whaler. He was expected to arrive at 7 p.m. Thursday but did not show up.  sirens2-300x300

A friend who came to look for the man tells the television station the boater had only 6 gallons of gas left in his boat when he began his trip to Connecticut.
