Well this is embarrassing.
Memorials popped up all over the Internet for Jaclyn Smith, after perezhilton.com reported that the Charlie’s Angels actress may have died in Honduras Tuesday from a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head. They came to a quick halt when @RealJaclynSmith posted via Twitter:
“Jaclyn is safe and home with her family. She is not in Honduras. It is a lie.”
How did the lie get started? Well Perez Hilton reportedly mis-translated the headline “Doble de Jaclyn Smith se accidenta” from a South American news story about Smith’s stunt double attempting suicide.
Oops.
