A bank was robbed in Bohemia on Wednesday afternoon, Suffolk police said.
The robber entered the Bank of Smithtown branch on Veterans Memorial Highway and gave the teller a note demanding cash and threatened violence at 2:55 p.m., according to Major Case Investigations Unit detectives. The teller complied and gave the robber cash from the drawer with a dye pack secreted in the bag.
The robber was seen getting into the passenger side of a dark-colored vehicle in the parking lot and was last seen fleeing eastbound.
The suspect is described as a white man approximately 25-years-old, 5’6” tall with a medium build and dark hair. He was wearing a Mets baseball hat, black T-shirt, blue jeans and white sneakers. The robber may have red dye on his hands and clothing.
