A bank was robbed in Bohemia on Wednesday afternoon, Suffolk police said.

The robber entered the Bank of Smithtown branch on Veterans Memorial Highway and gave the teller a note demanding cash and threatened violence at 2:55 p.m., according to Major Case Investigations Unit detectives. The teller complied and gave the robber cash from the drawer with a dye pack secreted in the bag.

The robber was seen getting into the passenger side of a dark-colored vehicle in the parking lot and was last seen fleeing eastbound.

The suspect is described as a white man approximately 25-years-old, 5’6” tall with a medium build and dark hair. He was wearing a Mets baseball hat, black T-shirt, blue jeans and white sneakers.  The robber may have red dye on his hands and clothing.

Anyone with information about this incident is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-220-TIPS.  All calls will remain confidential.
