Eber Lopez's body was identified after being found June 18

A body found in the woods near Farmingville has been positively identified as that of Eber Lopez. Lopez has been missing since June.

Suffolk police said that Lopez was lost spotted departing a christening in Southold on June 6. According to police, witnesses reported Lopez was confronted by a group of men believed to be affiliated with a gang.

Using a police K-9 unit, a body was discovered June 18 in the area near Old Medford Rd. and Expressway Drive North.

His body was found on June 18 in a wooded area in Farmingville. Police Lt. Jack Fitzpatrick says the boy had been shot.

Lopez has not been positively connected to any gangs.
