When Was Your Chamber Established?

The Huntington Township Chamber of Commerce was Incorporated in 1925 as a Chamber of Commerce in the Village of Huntington.

How Many Members Do You Have?

Over 600 businesses with many more members.

How Does The Chamber Promote Their Shop Local Initiatives?

The Huntington Township Chamber of Commerce has several programs, initiatives and seminars which it offers to the community to support the local retail.  In addition, there is a Village Merchants Committee which offers an opportunity for local merchants to promote and increase awareness of their businesses within the Township of Huntington by utilizing the resources of the Chamber through events, local government policy, group advertising, and working together to increase business for all.

The Huntington Chamber has also spearheaded the creation of the Huntington Township Business Council which is a coalition comprised of business and community leaders within the Village and Hamlets of Huntington working together to develop and implement effective strategies at a grassroots level which will benefit and support our local retail and business communities.

What ways Is The Chamber Involved In the Community?

The Huntington Township Chamber of Commerce represents the interests of business, industry, financial service, not-for-profit and other professionals of the greater Huntington region. Its mission is the promotion of business, economic development and job creation through the coordinated effort of its membership.

What Are Some Of The Upcoming Events That The Chamber Sponsors?

Wednesday, April 15th, 6:00–8:00 p.m. Business After Hours,  Hosted by Bank of Smithtown, 182 East Main Street, Huntington. Come and see this brand new state-of-the-art facility in Huntington.  Enjoy food and beverages while you network with fellow Chamber members.

Are There Any Memorable Moments in the Chamber’s History That You Would Like to Share?

In June 2002, the Huntington Township Chamber of Commerce and the Town Of Huntington received a prestigious award granted by the National Civic League titled “All American City Award.”   This recognition was based on community efforts recognizing the collaboration of business, not for profit and government working together.

What Was Your 2008 Business of the Year and Why?

The 2008 Long Island Business Best Awards honors influential corporations and leaders in business and industry.  Hailed as the business world’s own “Oscars,” the Long Island Business Best recognized companies that contribute to the quality of life within their community through their participation with the Huntington Township Chamber of Commerce.

Q- Does the flower girl have to wear white or ivory to match the bride?

A-Your flower girl can wear any colored dress, which of course coordinates with the rest of your wedding party. If you choose for her to wear white or ivory, you can accent the dress with the bridal party color sash or appliqué. She can also wear the color of the bridal party and to differentiate her, you can add a white or ivory sash. Choose something that you feel will coordinate best with the rest of your bridal party.
