Thomas Willdigg always struck us as an apt surname for the outgoing leader of the union representing Nassau County police detectives. Yes, this longtime investigator has done his share of digging during his career, and surely will dig some more. But he also did a bit of unifying as the leader of the New York State Association of PBAs, an Albany-based umbrella organization representing more than 35,000 police statewide. Although he is about to step down from that role as well in the near future, don’t expect this to be the last you’ll hear from him. Sources tell the Press he is sure to resurface later this year in another leading role. Stay tuned.
