A man who lost control of a chainsaw Friday is dead, Nassau County police said.
Theofilos Zervos, a 35-year-old Baldwin resident, was using a chainsaw to cut up wood on the side of his house. At one point, he lost control of the machine, which caused a laceration to his neck.
Zervos’ girlfriend returned to the home at 5 p.m. When she arrived, she discovered him and called 911.
First Precinct officers, the Baldwin Fire Department and a Nassau County Police Ambulance arrived at the residence. Zervos was pronounced dead at 5:20 p.m.
