Apple’s iPad may be the big man on tablet campus right now, but it won’t be alone for long. Plenty of manufacturers have announced plans to make a tablet device (HP did buy Palm for a reason, right?), and the first entry in the battle for 10-inch screen dominance will be Dell’s Streak.

The Streak, set to launch in Europe in June and the U.S. later this summer, packs a 5-inch screen (the iPad’s is 9.7) and is powered by Qualcomm’s 1-Ghz Snapdragon processor, currently found under the hood of the Droid Incredible on Verizon and the upcoming EVO 4G on Sprint.
Dell’s Streak runs Android, Google’s mobile device OS competing directly with Apple’s iPhone OS. The device will ship running the heavily outdated version 1.6 but plans to be upgraded over-the-air to the recently announced 2.2, aka FroYo. That’s significant because it means the Streak will support Flash, one of the biggest arguing points for those who aren’t fans of the iPad and iPhone OS.
The device also sports a pair of cameras: a five-megapixel with flash on the rear and a (likely VGA) lens on the front, designed for video conferencing.
When the Streak comes to America, it will be offered with 3G data provided by *gulp* AT&T.
