Suffolk police are asking for the public’s help in finding the person responsible for arson at an elementary school in Wyandanch three months ago.
The suspect poured a flammable liquid next to four large LPG tanks in the rear of Martin Luther King Elementary School on Mount Avenue on Sunday, Sept. 27. The arsonist then lit the liquid on fire, causing damage to the tanks and building.
The suspect appears to be a black woman wearing a hooded sweatshirt and gloves, according to Arson Squad detectives.
Anyone with information about this crime is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-220-TIPS. All calls will be kept confidential and the caller will be eligible for a cash reward of up to $5,000 for information that leads to an arrest.
