A bank was robbed in Rocky Point on Friday afternoon, Suffolk police said.
A man approached a teller at the Chase bank branch on Route 25A, verbally demanded cash and indicated that he had a gun at 12:01 p.m. The teller gave the robber cash from the drawer before the robber fled, police said.
He was last seen running southbound toward a shopping center located behind the bank.
Major Case Investigations Unit detectives described the suspect as a white man in his late 20s to mid-30s, 5’8” to 5’9” tall with a medium build. He was wearing a dark winter coat, a dark ski hat, dark sunglasses, dark gloves and jeans.
