Long Island Rail Road trains will be running on a modified schedule Monday on all 11 branches except for the devastated Long Beach line while crews continue to repair damage in the aftermath of Superstorm Sandy.
The Babylon, Huntington, Port Washington and Ronkonkoma branches are running a limited number of trains Sunday. The MTA has said that October monthly passes will be good through Monday, Nov. 5 and riders will not be charged extra for buying tickets on board.
“Because service will be limited, waits will be longer and trains will be more crowded,” the Metropolitan Transportation Authority said in a statement on its website. Only two of the four East River tunnels are in service.
