Nassau cops say someone couldn’t hold their liquor, and instead shoved an officer to the ground during a confrontation in Rockville Centre.
Nassau’s First Squad says the assault occurred yesterday Rockville Centre. According to the NCPD, a Rockville Centre officer was trying to give an appearance ticket to Andre Collado 22, of 1275 Waterview Drive, Rockville Center, for an open alcoholic container on Park Ave. As the officer attempted to complete the summons, he was approached by Geronimo Ramirez 28, of 232 Merrick Road, Rockville Centre.
Ramirez then tried to step in front of the officer. When the officer went to place Ramirez under arrest, Collado pushed the officer to the ground.
Ramirez was charged with Disorderly Conduct, Resisting Arrest and Obstructing Governmental Administration 2nd Degree. Collado is charged with Assault 2nd Degree. Both defendants will be arraigned today in Hempstead.
The officer was treated and released from an area hospital for injuries to his wrist and elbow.
