Nassau County police are investigating the second shooting this week in Freeport.
Police said a 20-year-old man was sitting in an Oldsmobile parked on Atlantic Avenue when a gunman walked up and shot him shortly before 11 p.m. Thursday.
The victim suffered bullet wounds to his arm and abdomen. He was taken to a local hospital where he is listed in stable condition.
The suspect was described as a Hispanic man wearing a black sweatsuit with writing on the left side of the chest.
Special Investigations Squad detectives are investigating. The incident comes after a 17-year-old Hempstead man was charged with the attempted murder of two other teenagers in Freeport on Wednesday.
