Nassau County police said they apprehended an armed Franklin Square bank robber shortly after the holdup at gunpoint Thursday evening.
Police said Enley Ball walked into the TD Bank on Hempstead Turnpike, displayed a handgun and verbally demanded money from the teller at 6:22 p.m.
The 33-year-old Pennsylvania man fled on foot with cash but officers caught him one block away, police said.
Ball was charged with robbery, criminal use of a firearm and criminal possession of a weapon.
He will be arraigned Friday at First District Court in Hempstead.
